PathBit collects nothing.

PathBit reads your Mac's audio output on your Mac and keeps what it reads there. It has no account, no analytics and makes no network requests of its own.

Updated 24 October 2026

What PathBit reads

To show what your Mac sends to your audio device, PathBit reads public information from macOS:

PathBit never records, captures or listens to audio. It does not read files, track names, albums, browser tabs, page titles or your music library.

What PathBit keeps

What leaves your Mac

Nothing, unless you send it. A report is created when you choose Copy Full Report or Copy Summary, and it goes where you paste it. Device names can include your first name, so read a report before you share it.

Purchases

PathBit Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; PathBit never sees your payment details or your Apple Account. To check whether Pro is owned, and to show its price, macOS may contact Apple. Those requests are Apple's; PathBit sends nothing of its own.

Permissions

PathBit asks for no permission: no microphone, no screen recording, no accessibility access, no access to your files. Notifications are the only exception, and only if you turn them on.

This website

pathbitapp.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and loads nothing from other sites. The company that hosts it may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Children

PathBit collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
